Were you counting?

DIY vest

Spent a good afternoon with a couple of friends.
Something I'm pondering about:
Don't we usually want time to go slower when we're having fun? Sometimes, we even say foolish things like "I wish I could stop time right now". But we want to spend it with those who matter and when we spend it with those who matter, time passes so fast. Do you get what I'm trying to get across? So what's the solution?  Do you know that feeling when you're trying to sort out a chain of thoughts, and you find yourself going full circle. Or worse, you realize your brain is so scattered, you can't even go back to the beginning of your train of thought? Anyways, my apologies for an incoherent post. I've always felt the dilemma of wanting to express everything that comes to my mind, but am sometimes afraid of what others might think. IE. why are the thoughts in this girls head so jumbled up? (Obviously voicing out everything that comes to my mind is an entire problem by itself.) Does anyone else feel that way?! Or is it just me...

Good day,

TGIF--In Polaroids, Meet My Parents

I recently downloaded a new application on my phone which gives you a few options to edit the pictures you take on your phone's camera. I played around with it today while having afternoon tea with my parents. They don't like posing for the camera so I took some candid shots of them..hehe
A few days ago, I also went to a Katy Perry concert with one of my best friends. I had a blast. The theme for her concert was so cute, and I loved her stage outfits so much. I wish I had remembered to charge my camera..but I hadn't. Instead, I took some pretty lousy photos with my phone and a billion videos for my little sis (who loves Katy Perry, but wasn't able to go).

First are my apologies for the quality of the pictures...I know I have to remember to charge my camera but it ALWAYS slips my mind! Second, my dad actually made the request for me to feature him on my blog when he saw me taking pictures, trying out the new application on my phone. Because of his request, I started taking pictures of him just for fun and then later decided, why not?
I made this skirt a while ago, inspired by all those flowing and pleated skirts that are appearing in everyone's closests. I can't remember owning a skirt in this length but didn't want to buy one when I felt I could make one for much cheaper. I didn't end up making it until a month or two after the idea originally came to me. So I guess that makes me a bit late in this trend, but I still love the feeling of wearing something pretty and breezy, so I'm sure I'll be wearing this very often this summer. I also bought a cookie the size of my head before the concert started...cool, no?

And of course, today is a very special day for us Canadians as it is our country's birthday! Happy birthday Canada! Bonne fete Canada!

Catch the Taste, Live and Breath

First off, Happy Father's Day to every awesome father out there, and especially to my #1 Daddy! Not often are we a family to miss out on 1.excitement, 2.crowds, 3.good food 4.good cultural mix so we headed down to Little Italy for my Daddy's Day enjoyed wonderful mix of everything mentioned earlier, and more!.. But actually mostly just food. I could barely sit still in the car on the ride home because I was TOO full and ended up feeling sick at every turn the car took! EEEK!

Fish tacos, Italian Nachos(?!), Churros, Gelato......&more that were not photographed. YUM. Oh yeah, by-the-way, I do usually eat like a slob, food drops onto my clothes and hands. Totally gross. I know. Don`t judge me...ha. Noticed the lipstick on my taco? I heard that we lipstick wearers swallow on average approximately 6 lbs of that stuff in a lifetime.
A year ago, I made this cute little yellow dress for my little sister and she hated it! I wore it once last year and when I found it in my sister's closet the other day, I had to take it out for a walk (to the supermarket for milk..). Anyways, I took it out nonetheless. And no matter how cool I made it look, my sister still hated it! HA! A few weeks ago, I bought this orange-y ring and I think it`s so cute!

(Top designed and sewn by me, Levi's pants, AA fanny pack, ZIGI sandals)
After getting the mail today, goofed around with my little sister around the neighborhood and at the park. With the sun shining so brightly, it feels like nothing can go wrong.

flowers in my heart

(shirt and clutch designed and sewn by me, Rudsak skirt)
Sometimes, I feel like I can open my heart to love everything and everyone but sometimes, I become so angry and frustrated that I can barely bring myself to reason with anything. I'm working on that though and two days ago, I learned from my doctor that iron deficiency actually makes us irritated easily and also causes mood swings. Perhaps we can take the blame off of my character and put it on a poor diet? Anyways, like everybody else, I can only try to be better everyday.
Also, that little project I mentioned in my previous post, I`m still super stoked about it, meaning I haven`t abandoned it like many other previous projects I`ve started. Super excited!

C
