Bridesmaid & the Attention Span of a Goldfish

While clicking the "New Post" button, I finally realized how long it's been since I've written anything in my blog! I'm envious of those who can remember to post frequently! For myself, it's important to keep up with taking pictures, writing in a diary, or keeping up a blog because I probably have a memory span similar to that of a gold fish.

In any case, the reason why I've decided to pick up my lazy bones and post this was because yesterday, I attended a wedding as a bridesmaid, and I don't want to forget it! I've got a few pictures on my digital camera, but because there were professional photographers, I decided to put my time and efforts into some other important things: my duties as a bridesmaid. Although there were a number of things I had to do, and while doing them, they might have felt slightly like chores (wrapping the gifts!), it was such a wonderful experience!
Being able to participate in the bridal party was so memorable. This was the first wedding that I had really participated in and I don't think I'll ever forget it. The most memorable thing had to be watching the bride and the groom exchange their vows. It was such a sincere and genuine moment, I'm surprised I didn't shed any tears. The bride was the more comical one, as her vow consisted mostly of a funny, and definitely witty, poem that she wrote in Chinese. But anyways, the best is watching them two exchange those words of love and promising themselves to each other.
Here is a list of things that I don't want to forget (I'm getting tired, and my sentences will slowly start to lose structure if I continue writing in paragraphs. Furthermore, by listing them, I won't risk forgetting anything while I write):
  • Not being able to fall asleep until at least 2:30 am the morning of
  • Waking up at 5 the morning to get hair and make-up done
  • Playing the door games and asking for red pockets
  • Trying to fall asleep in the car ride to Brampton and back, WITHOUT messing up the hair and make-up
  • Braving the cold and taking pictures with the bridal party at the wedding ceremony location
  • My bouquet falling apart a million times(!!!)
  • My duty of pouring a billion cups of tea for the tea ceremony
  • The yummy food
  • Taking a lot of photos
  • Walking down the aisle as a bridesmaid (and watching my sister as the flower girl right before me)
  • I will NEVER forget the Bride's mom urging me to practice my walk down the aisle (!!!!!!!!!)
  • Watching those wonderful vows
  • Staying behind with the bridal party after the ceremony, waiting for the bride and groom to finish taking their pictures, joking about becoming professional bridesmaids and groomsmen for the next wedding to happen at the venue
  • Helping set up the gifts and such at the reception
  • The games the bride and groom played at the reception
and because my memory is starting to get fuzzy now...
  • At the end of the night, standing at the back with everyone who participated in the wedding, and shaking hands with all the guests, saying things like: "Have a good night!", "Drive safe!", "Thanks for coming!"...etc
  • Oh, and I just can't forget not winning the prize I wanted ever since helping wrap the gifts (a huge manicure/pedicure set)!!
I'm bummed I can't remember more...But I'm pretty sure I've got most of it down. I can't wait to see the pictures the professional photographers took!

Although the bride and groom may never see this, I'd like to say here again:
Congratulations and my most sincere wishes for them to have a wonderful, loving, genuine, romantic, happy, and overall, blissful marriage. May their love prosper and grow even more with time, and of course, thank you again for allowing me the pleasure of being part of such a wonderful bridal party.

Is it to soon to say I can't wait to attend another wedding!
