so young

(Mother's blazer, Gap t-shirt, pants I designed and sewed, H&M bag, Vintage necklace)
I'm so glad the weather is starting to get so warm and sunny. The best feeling is driving around around town with some good summer tunes and with the windows all the way down. Tomorrow, I'm having lunch with a childhood friend who I haven't seen in 5+ years. I can still very clearly remember those days when we used to be so young and carefree. The thing I love about meeting up with old friends is that we can somehow always relive those wonderful memories and feelings of back then. Sometimes, I think it's my reluctance to grow up that makes me hang onto those memories and feelings more and more..but then that makes me think about why I sometimes feel reluctant to grow up...geez..all this thinking and it doesn't feel like it's getting me anywhere...I'm wondering if there's a name for the fear of growing up..or maybe if there's a name for people who don't like to think...but let's not even go there! haha!
I also feel like I should mention that I found this vintage necklace at the vintage flea market in New York when I went to check out FIT a few weeks ago. I saw this necklace when I first entered the market and decided I should walk around and see more before I purchased anything. After walking two rounds, I just couldn't leave without buying it!

p.s. I will try to remind myself to charge my camera so that I can stop taking pictures with my cellphone.......but I'll probably forget..I should really be doing more with my brain!
p.p.s. this doesn't feel like a very positive post to me..
p.p.p.s I'm also feeling quite unproductive

the worst beginning means it will only get better from here

(a sweeter breakfast consisting of yogurt, raspberries, and some crumbs of the dessert I made last night; Lacoste skirt; H&M bag; turquoise necklace from Hainan; my favourite lollipop: Chupa Chups)
This morning, I woke up and I really thought it was going to be such a crummy day. I could barely convince myself to get out of bed and head over to yoga class. It only got worse when I left the house and found it was dark and wet outside. The one thing that I really don't like about Spring time is the rain. After yoga class though, I found that the sun had come out, the weather was warmer and there was almost no trace of the morning rain! From there, my day only got better and better. It's time to approach everything with positivity. Today, my yoga instructor mentioned that we should really be taking our practice outside of the class and into our everyday lives. In time, she said, we will find ourselves becoming more patient, nicer (to everyone and ourselves), happier, and with the ability to treat everything and everyone with more care and thought. Shall we all practice that together? I also picked up two books by Mitch Albom today. I read: "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" after a friend recommended and lent it to me. I loved it so much and was meaning to read another one of his books but I never got around to getting my hands on one. Can't wait to start reading!

loving: I Do

A couple of weeks ago, I took a solo trip to New York city to visit my future school! I was there for a weekend and had the opportunity to walk around and digest the idea that I'll soon be leaving home to live in a such a mega city! On my second and last day there, while I was walking to the school for a tour/information session, I noticed a sign for a vintage flea market. It was along the way of walking towards the school and I was early, so I really couldn't resist stopping by. I'm so glad I decided to stop there because I ended up picking up some jewelery. I didn't shop much that weekend, but I definitely stuffed myself! First, I certainly couldn't leave the city without getting some Pinkberry frozen yogurt (lychee and lime flavour) and after leaving Pinkberry, I crossed the street to find an extremely busy bakery called "Paris Baguette". I got a sweet potato cream cheese sandwich and some sort of flat bread (?), and they were both so delicious! After all that food (I also stopped for some sushi...), I stopped at a cafe called "Élé" to get a sweet potato latté. I know that sounds kind of weird, but really, don't judge until you've tried it! Aside from visiting the school, the foods I ate was seriously the most memorable and the best part about travelling alone is you get to see and eat everything that you want, and only the things you want lol.
The other day, I went to the pet store and saw this humongous dog lying on the ground in the middle of the store! I obviously joined the ten or so people who were already surrounding the dog trying to get a picture of him (or her). I got a picture with the dog, but I looked extremely awkward (sort of in the middle of looking excited and giddy over seeing such a huge dog and looking like I'm just about ready to run if the dog decides to get up.). The last picture is something I whipped up real quick today after dinner to satisfy a craving for some sweets. I layered some crushed cereal, graham crackers, freshly ground almonds, peanut butter, Nutella, chocolate chips, raisins....etc and popped it in the microwave. But speaking of craving for sweets, personally, I am absolutely addicted to candies and such, I just came upon a post from the health and fitness section of the Glamour magazine blog suggesting that candy and chocolate lovers are actually slimmer than those who don't love the sweets! (Sweet News: Candy Lovers Are Surprisingly Thinner--Do You Heart Candy?) hmmmm...

P.S. I heard this song on a commercial for TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress", and I absolutely love it!
It's called "I Do" by: Colbie Caillat

Today is...

(Zara shirt, Club Monaco straight leg jeans)
I can't remember where I read this phrase, but as I woke up this morning, the first that that came to my mind was: "today is the youngest I'll ever be". So while keeping that in mind, remember this: carpe diem!
