Apple and Cinnamon

(Eight Sixty top, Deena and Ozzy belt, Wilfrid pants)

I met up with a best friend from elementary school last night, we had dinner and tea afterwards. I ordered an apple and cinnamon tea and it was absolutely delicious! Much better than my teabag versions.... Anyways, today I headed to the library since I had some free time. I picked up a few books and even decided on two books written by Canadian authors. It's been a while since I've read books written by fellow Canadians lol. It was raining a bit, and I managed to see a rainbow. It wasn't too big but it was still pretty. I'm off to work now.

Joyeux Anniversaire Maman!!

(Dad's shirt, Gap top, Mom's vintage belt, scarf I knitted, Abercrombie pants, Wilfrid tights, Sam Edelman "Zoe")

We celebrated my mom's birthday today. Starting the day off surprising her with presents. I chose to get her a plant this year instead a of a bouquet because I don't like how bouquets die eventually. Plants however, can continue to grow and bloom flowers. Obviously though, who am I kidding? Bouquets score for being prettier. I also attempted to make her a necklace, though I don't think she'd ever really wear it...Anyways, we went to the temple for lunch, and I really can't deny, a simple vegetarian meal with my family is such a great way to start off the day. Driving back, we saw the moon amidst all the clouds! Today was the first time I saw the moon high up in the sky in the middle of the day. Another cool thing: on my mom's birthday (11/13), the gas prices were 111.3. Funny coincidence huh?

I really need to invest in some nicer markers...

Just taking a short trip through memory lane...

Back when my cousin and I used to have sleepovers, dress up, and take a few hundred pictures at a time...
I should really be working on my portfolio, but I suddenly had the urge to look through some old photos...why not share those precious memories? And embarrass my cousin a little...(although I chose the better pictures...there are some that would be pretty embarrassing for both of us..lol)

Anyways, it's time to get back to work

White Halloween

So I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween, it snowed here. What a wonderful day of decorating the house, organizing the candy to hand out, hanging around with the Family, and of course Trick-or-Treating for candy was a blast. Will I ever get too old for that? I hope not. After decorating the house and gathering some candy to hand out, my Sis and I attempted to roast some marshmallows at the fireplace. Clearly not possible with out fireplace...but it was nice to sit next to it and be toasty warm.
Pork bone soup. One of my most favourite dishes.
With my stash after Trick-or-Treating. Chupa Chups, my favourite.

Snap, Crackle, and Pop.

Pink, Raise Your Glass

Throughout the course of this week..
(Grandma's vintage scarf, Grandma's vest, Gap top, BDG jeans, Miss Sixty flats)
I've decided that on top of fashion design, I will also apply for fashion merchandising and management ("Fashion Communication" at Ryerson)
Decorated a little bit for Halloween (will finish the decorating on Halloween day--scared it might rain the night before, and waste my efforts)
(Dark Harts cardigan, Armani Exchange top, Jacob jeans)
Pumpkin, YUM
(Gap top, Vest-My own original design, Zara leggings, Sam Edelman "Zoe")
Just the usual-here's me looking for something in my bag. I've come to realize that in addition to having bad memory, I lose EVERYTHING. I especially hate it when I lose the essentials, and then I have to buy another one obviously (since it's an essential), and then I end up finding lost one two days later!

Here's my friend and I. We're Crackle and Pop! We went to celebrate Halloween with our friend at York uni. I only have a limited number of pictures from that night, but I'll post more when I have pictures of us with Snap!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Bridesmaid & the Attention Span of a Goldfish

While clicking the "New Post" button, I finally realized how long it's been since I've written anything in my blog! I'm envious of those who can remember to post frequently! For myself, it's important to keep up with taking pictures, writing in a diary, or keeping up a blog because I probably have a memory span similar to that of a gold fish.

In any case, the reason why I've decided to pick up my lazy bones and post this was because yesterday, I attended a wedding as a bridesmaid, and I don't want to forget it! I've got a few pictures on my digital camera, but because there were professional photographers, I decided to put my time and efforts into some other important things: my duties as a bridesmaid. Although there were a number of things I had to do, and while doing them, they might have felt slightly like chores (wrapping the gifts!), it was such a wonderful experience!
Being able to participate in the bridal party was so memorable. This was the first wedding that I had really participated in and I don't think I'll ever forget it. The most memorable thing had to be watching the bride and the groom exchange their vows. It was such a sincere and genuine moment, I'm surprised I didn't shed any tears. The bride was the more comical one, as her vow consisted mostly of a funny, and definitely witty, poem that she wrote in Chinese. But anyways, the best is watching them two exchange those words of love and promising themselves to each other.
Here is a list of things that I don't want to forget (I'm getting tired, and my sentences will slowly start to lose structure if I continue writing in paragraphs. Furthermore, by listing them, I won't risk forgetting anything while I write):
  • Not being able to fall asleep until at least 2:30 am the morning of
  • Waking up at 5 the morning to get hair and make-up done
  • Playing the door games and asking for red pockets
  • Trying to fall asleep in the car ride to Brampton and back, WITHOUT messing up the hair and make-up
  • Braving the cold and taking pictures with the bridal party at the wedding ceremony location
  • My bouquet falling apart a million times(!!!)
  • My duty of pouring a billion cups of tea for the tea ceremony
  • The yummy food
  • Taking a lot of photos
  • Walking down the aisle as a bridesmaid (and watching my sister as the flower girl right before me)
  • I will NEVER forget the Bride's mom urging me to practice my walk down the aisle (!!!!!!!!!)
  • Watching those wonderful vows
  • Staying behind with the bridal party after the ceremony, waiting for the bride and groom to finish taking their pictures, joking about becoming professional bridesmaids and groomsmen for the next wedding to happen at the venue
  • Helping set up the gifts and such at the reception
  • The games the bride and groom played at the reception
and because my memory is starting to get fuzzy now...
  • At the end of the night, standing at the back with everyone who participated in the wedding, and shaking hands with all the guests, saying things like: "Have a good night!", "Drive safe!", "Thanks for coming!"...etc
  • Oh, and I just can't forget not winning the prize I wanted ever since helping wrap the gifts (a huge manicure/pedicure set)!!
I'm bummed I can't remember more...But I'm pretty sure I've got most of it down. I can't wait to see the pictures the professional photographers took!

Although the bride and groom may never see this, I'd like to say here again:
Congratulations and my most sincere wishes for them to have a wonderful, loving, genuine, romantic, happy, and overall, blissful marriage. May their love prosper and grow even more with time, and of course, thank you again for allowing me the pleasure of being part of such a wonderful bridal party.

My sister and I, early in the morning, right after we got our hair and make-up done
With my family at the wedding
(Teen Flo blazer, J. Crew dress, Marc Jacobs pumps, Gap clutch)
My bridesmaid bouquet

Is it to soon to say I can't wait to attend another wedding!
XOXO,
C

Andre Kim (1935-2010)

Although I usually didn't pay much attention to South Korean designer Andre Kim, I noticed his designs for their boldness, eccentricity, and rich colours. RIP

These are some pictures from his shows that I found on Google:

Kimber Doll

It's been such a long time since I've updated my blog...but my laptop is broken! :( The jack for the charger....well, the charger overheated and is fused into the jack! So updating (especially uploading pictures) is just too dreadful on this too-slow desktop...

Today is Daddy's birthday and I wish this could be a more eventful post...but Kimber Doll's summer giveaway is definitely worth a quick blog post.

Time for cake now,

XO!
